[it's not much, but it's his specialty. it's not his usual specialty, as he doesn't have the right type of wine, but he was able to get his hands on some and, well, here they are.]
And I surely hope you don't mind spending a few hours of your special day with me.
[sizhui wastes no time leaning closer, getting a nice whiff of the delicious-smelling food, which almost immediately has his mouth watering.] Thank you so much! No, I haven't yet, and these smell absolutely fantastic...
[whether it's kaeya's usual or not, they look and smell great either way, and being able to share his gift with good company? well, now that's just a huge plus!] Ah, Kaeya, [he pauses, cheeks flushing a healthy shade of red before he steps aside and gestures his friend inside.]
You know I will always have time for you, especially on my birthday. Spending time with my friends is one of my favorite things to do during it.
Excellent, than I came in at the perfect time. [he happily enters sizhui's little home, toeing off his shoes as he's learned to do over the various worlds and friends he's visited.
he takes a brief look around before turning his attention to sizhui.] You're much too kind to me, Sizhui. It's your birthday! You shouldn't be paying me any flatteries.
You certainly did! [gosh, hopefully he's not doing something silly like drooling, because he really is quite hungry. he shuts the door behind kaeya, makes a particular hand gesture and swipes downward on the door, effectively warding it again.
the little cabin hasn't changed at all, aside from there being fresh flowers dotted throughout the home, but even those are normal to sizhui and anyone who visits, considering he's always finding ways to use his gembonded abilities.] Ah, ah, [he playfully chides, taking kaeya's arm and carefully guiding him further into the kitchen from the small hallway.] I know, but you still took time out of your day to come and that's important to me.
[if kaeya didn't have his hands full, he'd headpat sizhui. but alas! he just allows himself to be led, and sets the plate down on the table and pulls sizhui into a hug.]

[he gives a squeeze before taking a skewer and presenting it to sizhui.] Say 'ah'!
[that's quite alright, considering a hug is far better than any headpatting he could receive, and he doesn't hesitate to enfold kaeya in an embrace in return.]
Thank you, [he responds softly, nuzzling against kaeya's shoulder while they're still close enough to do so, though he's quick to withdraw after he's squeezed, expression brightened with delight at the offering. he does drawl,] Ahhh! [but instead of waiting, he reaches to take kaeya's hand, guides it closer and neatly removes a piece of meat off the skewer with his teeth, chewing thoughtfully.
there's a pleased little mmm! and, once sizhui's finished, he pipes,] Wow, they're really great, Kaeya!
[kaeya chuckles, flustering a little at the enthusiastic praise.]
Ah- if only you could have had it in my home world. I had to make do here, but usually the chicken is marinated in an exquisite wine that is unparalleled by any other.
[he takes his own skewer and bites into a mushroom.]
But I'm glad you like it. [a little softer-] It's also thanks for taking care of me during ah. Rough times.
[adorable, kaeya deserves to be flustered (and praised!) far more often.
rather than keep kaeya's other hand captive, sizhui takes the skewer he's already eaten off of, holds it carefully between his fingers and brings his other hand around so he doesn't make too much of a mess when he goes for a mushroom of his own.
of course, there are more pleased-sounding noises as he chews that up too, but once he's finished, he remarks,] Perhaps, with a few stamps, you might be able to request the wine? [and as for the rough times...] I don't mind, Kaeya, you're my friend and I'll always do anything I can to help. [pause, his expression softens somewhat, but there's still clear fondness in the quirk of his lips.] Even if it means staying with you in an ice cavern for a few days.
[kaeya takes humor in his fuckups at least, so he laughs.]
Sometimes I worry that you're much too trusting. And yet- you've managed to survive so far, if we don't take into account why we're even here. So maybe you're onto something. Maybe being too cynical actually weighs you down in life.
[kaeya's made plenty!!! mostly for sizhui to eat as much as he likes.]
[which is good, because if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?]
Ah... [sizhui trails off, considering, taking another piece of food off his skewer and eating while he thinks. sure, he's been told this many times before; it's not all that surprising, given the circumstances and how he normally handles things by taking them in stride, yet there have been moments where he's wondered if he is too naïve.
lucky for him, he has more than enough wisdom and worldliness to make up for what he lacks in other experiences, and what he doesn't have there, he makes up for in skills he uses to protect himself.]
It's true, there's something to be said about living life with a pessimistic point of view... but I must admit, I do try and see the best in people, no matter what they've done during their lifetime. [there are exceptions, of course, but even then, sizhui still hopes people can change for the better.]
